Holy Spirit Conviction Reflection Worksheet¶
Holy Spirit Conviction Reflection Worksheet: A reflective tool to help participants recognize how the Holy Spirit speaks, identify present conviction, and surrender the obstacles that interfere with hearing His voice.
Instructions:¶
Take time to sit quietly before answering. The Holy Spirit speaks in many ways — through Scripture, prayer, circumstances, the words of others, and the still, small voice within. Use the following prompts to reflect on how you have heard Him, where He is convicting you now, and what response He is asking of you.
1. When have you sensed the Holy Spirit speaking to you?:¶
- Recall a recent moment — this week, this month, or earlier — when you felt the Holy Spirit guiding, comforting, warning, or convicting you.
- What did the moment feel like? Was it a clear word, a quiet impression, a circumstance, or a peace you couldn't explain?
-
-
2. How does the Holy Spirit most often speak to you?:¶
- Reflect on the pattern of God's voice in your life. The Spirit communicates through Scripture, prayer, godly counsel, circumstances, dreams, conviction during worship, and the still small voice (1 Kings 19:12).
- Which of these channels do you most often recognize? Which do you most often miss?
-
-
3. What is the Holy Spirit convicting you about right now?:¶
- Is there a specific area of your life, relationships, or ministry where the Spirit is prompting you toward repentance, action, surrender, or change?
- How do you know this conviction is from the Holy Spirit rather than your own thoughts, fears, or expectations of others?
-
-
4. What is making it difficult to hear?:¶
- Reflect honestly on the barriers between you and the Spirit's voice. Common ones include busyness, noise, unresolved sin, fear of what God might ask, doubt, the desire to control outcomes, or the pace of life that leaves no quiet for listening.
- Which of these is most active in your life right now?
-
-
5. What is the Spirit asking you to surrender?:¶
- Listening is not passive — it requires laying down the things that compete for our attention and obedience.
- Is there a habit, distraction, fear, plan of your own, or relationship pattern the Holy Spirit is asking you to release so that you can hear Him more clearly?
-
-
6. Scripture Reflection:¶
- Choose a scripture from this session that the Holy Spirit highlighted to you. Write it down and reflect on how it confirms what He is saying.
Scripture Examples:
-
John 14:26: "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
-
Romans 8:14: "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God."
-
Isaiah 30:21: "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'"
-
1 Kings 19:12: The still small voice in which God spoke to Elijah after the wind, earthquake, and fire.
-
Acts 13:2: "While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'"

7. Next Steps:¶
- Write down 1-2 specific actions you will take this week to listen more closely to the Holy Spirit and respond to what He is saying. These may include a daily quiet time, removing a specific distraction, sharing the conviction with a trusted believer, or taking the first step of obedience.
-
-
8. Prayer Focus:¶
- Close your reflection with a prayer inviting the Holy Spirit to keep speaking, to give you ears to hear, courage to obey, and grace to surrender what stands in the way.
